Great Horned Owls usually use an old
crow's nest or Red-tailed Hawk nest because they do not build their
own nest. But when a broken off snag like this large one is
available, they use it. Point Pelee, 13 May 2010 |

This young owl tried
out its wings on 13 May 2010. Next day one fledged and one was left
in the nest snag. |
