The white mark on the side of the face
is intermediate between the crescent on Barrow's and rounder mark on
Common. Head shape is also intermediate. |

Reduced black spur on
the side and larger white spots on scapulars are intermediate in
pattern between Barrow's and Common Goldeneyes, |

It is similar to a
hybrid goldeneye on the Toronto Christmas Bird Count in 2006. See
