Common Redpoll feeding
on seeds of European Black Alder at Ashbridges Bay in Toronto on 29
January 2011. This is a non native tree, but redpolls love the
seeds. European Black Alder are also in Tommy Thompson Park, and redpolls
are on these trees in a redpoll flight year. Update: On the Toronto
Christmas Bird Count on 14 December 2014, our team saw a flock
Common Redpolls on European Black Alder at Tommy Thompson Park. We
saw them again on 11 January 2015. |
