On 3 April 2013, an American Robin
arrived at our suet feeder in Toronto and came in frequently to eat
a lot of suet. The weather has been unseasonably cold so recent
migrants such as this robin could be stressed for natural food. We
watched it guard the feeder and chase off the resident "Myrtle"
Yellow-rumped Warbler when it tried to feed. When the robin was
full, it flew off and the Yellow-rumped was able to come in to feed. |
