Bittern & Yellow-crowned Night-Heron at Colonel Sam Smith Park

This juvenile Least Bittern concentrated
on finding food and appeared oblivious to those watching it at a
safe distance across water. The colours of its plumage were a rich
chestnut and buffy yellow. The feather edges were quite worn.

grey feathers on the crown. It is greyer overall than juvenile
Black-crowned Night-Heron, which is brown. |
