These three Thayer's Gulls wings are in the
collection at the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) in Toronto. Each is
different, showing some of the variation in Thayer's Gull wing
pattern. The specimens were collected at Departure Bay, British
Columbia, in February. when Thayer's Gulls are on their wintering
grounds. I thank Mark Peck, Collections Manager at the ROM for
