			In
Iceland this past summer, I visited Skalanes Nature Reserve in the
			Northeast. Our guide Bjarki
Borgþórsson, showed me a Gyrfalcon he and his
colleagues rescued because it couldn't fly. At first they thought it
flew into a fence. However it was then believed a Northern Fulmar
spewed oily vomit all over its plumage, messing it up so badly it
couldn't fly. It was taken to rehab in Reykjavik to be cleaned, and
was finally released successfully on 16 October 2016. |
