Red-bellied Woodpecker is aptly named when one can see the red on
its belly. The tail pattern is so geometric that at first I thought
it was letters or symbols on a label - maybe a new way of marking
birds to identify them for a research project! But this fascinating
tail pattern is natural. Presqu'ile Provincial Park in Ontario on 16
November 2019. |
