VIDEO: City-Living Red-tailed Hawk

VIDEO: This adult Red-tailed Hawk has adapted to city living and cold temperatures. It warms up on the chimney of apartment buildings on York Mills Road Toronto. 3 February 2019.

This Red-tailed Hawk on an apartment chimney holds its breast over the rising warm air, which has helped it in the recent day and night temperatures of -18C to -22C . Every time I passed by it has been there for the past month. Now a Rock Pigeon specialist, it has an ample supply of food from the large flock of Rock Pigeons being fed in the shopping plaza parking lot.
