Purple Sandpipers and Dunlin at Presqu'ile on 1 January 2020

Five Purple Sandpipers fed on extensive algae at Presqu'ile Provincial Park on 1 January 2020. They were all in first winter plumage. Please click on photo above or link below for video.

All five Purple Sandpipers on algae at Owen Point, Presqu'ile, where they are feeding on invertebrates. Wave action from Lake Ontario kept the algae from drying out. 1 January 2020.
