Purple Sandpiper in Toronto

Purple Sandpiper in first winter plumage. At close range look for a pinkish or purplish metallic reflection on some scapulars. It's not easy to see and only shows in certain light conditions. I had never seen this before, but there is a similar photo showing the purplish gloss in the Purple Sandpiper account in The Birds of North America Online.
