Dunlin: The subspecies schinzii breeding in
Iceland is smaller, shorter-billed, duller and much less rufous
above than Dunlins in North America. Hveravellir in the interior of
Iceland on 2 July 2013. |

Whimbrel were seen
frequently throughout the countryside. This one likely had a nest or
young nearby. 3 July 2013. |
