Olive-sided Flycatcher

Toronto on 11 August 2009

Scroll down for four photos.

Olive-sided Flycatcher in first basic plumage in a dead Hemlock on 11 August.

It had crisp fresh edges to the wing coverts.

Its bill was large and orange on the lower mandible when it opened its bill.

Olive-sided Flycatchers are regular fall migrants in my backyard, flycatching from the top of dead Hemlocks.
