Feeding Frenzy of Red-breasted Mergansers on Lake Ontario

Huge flocks of Red-breasted Mergansers are feeding on Lake Ontario in Durham Region between Frenchmans Bay in Pickering and Rotary Park in Ajax. These videos give an idea of the size of the flocks.  There must be an abundance of minnows, but how long will they last with so many birds. Frenchmans Bay on 20 November 2017. Hoping the Northern Gannet will come by to check out the food supply.
