Female Ruff at Cranberry Marsh |
 |
This female Ruff was at Cranberry Marsh on 7 June
2018. Shorebird habitat is excellent because the barrier beach
breached during a storm. Water levels are low in the marsh. Thank
you to Charmaine Anderson and Mike Ferguson for finding the Ruff and
getting the word out promptly. |

Female Ruff at Cranberry Marsh on 7 June
2018. Female Ruff is sometimes called reeve but this is an Old
World name and not an official name. "It's not mentioned in the
American Ornithologists' Union or the British Ornithologists' Union
checklists or in leading shorebird specialty guides." Ron Pittaway
