A North American River Otter fed on many fish at Frenchman's Bay on 24 February 2019.


Young Mute Swan struggled to reach open water. It couldn't stand. After about 20 minutes it reached open water and looked happier. Frenchman's Bay, Pickering, Ontario on 19 february 2019

Two American Crows fought so viciously I thought one would kill the other. They physically entangled for over 12 minutes, one holding the other down and not moving for minutes at a time. 3 February 2019.


This adult Red-tailed Hawk has adapted to city living and cold temperatures. It warms up on the chimney of apartment buildings on York Mills Road Toronto. 3 February 2019.

VIDEO: Black (Pacific) Brant at Boundary Bay, British Columbia were so close to the viewing stand we could hear their vocalizations. The commentary is a gentleman called Rick who explained about the Brant.

For the first time on Amherst Island, Snowy Owls are encountering wind turbines. 2 January 2019.


Seeing 27 Snowy Owls in one day on Amherst Island was magical and an opportunity to study individual plumage variation, ear tufts and behaviour. 2 January 2019.


A Red Fox showed up at our bird feeders in Toronto. It looks to be in great shape, but it was hungry and ate bits of suet that had fallen down from the feeder above. Toronto on 21 January 2019..


A Barred Owl perched at our feeders in Toronto on 14 January 2019. A squirrel climbed up to check out the sleepy owl, almost touching it.
