Icelandic sheepdog is a pure breed dating back to the Vikings. They are still used to tend livestock, and are known for their friendly nature.

 

Icelandic horses are an ancient breed dating back to the 9th and 10th centuries and are known for their hardiness in the tough climate Here they are demonstrating various gaits at a show at Gauksmyri.
