This young Spectacled Owl at Rio Santiago Nature Reserve on 17 March 2017 was a highlight of our Canada-Honduras trade mission to Honduras organized by Kisserup International Trade Roots. The aim was to promote sustainability and development in bird-based ecotourism in Honduras. I thank Pernille Fischer Boulter and Maria Calcano of Kisserup International Trade Roots and Justin Peter of Quest Nature Tours for the opportunity to participate.

Please scroll through 8 pages for a selection of birds. Our Honduran hosts provided an outstanding program. Many thanks to Oliver Komar for posting 25 eBird checklists, our group's contribution to Honduran ornithology.

The extensive gardens of Metrotel Express hotel in San Pedro Sula were perfect for early morning birding on 12 March 2017. In the photo: Gustavo Poublanc (left) of Honduras was our driver AND he's a birder; Adolfo Fonseca of Kisserup International Trade Roots (middle); and Jared Clarke of Newfoundland.
