A pair of Peruvian Thick-knees was in rubble beside the beach at Playa Puerto Viejo on 3 November 2014.

This Coastal Miner defended territory against a House Sparrow on the the beach at Playa Puerto Viejo.

I enjoyed seeing overwintering North American breeding shorebirds like this Whimbrel.

Greater Yellowlegs at the Lurin River. This should be called Lurid River. Waste water discharging from nearby farm caused foaming water to be a lurid green and bluish colour. There was a strong smell of pesticides/fungicides. Unfortunately, many birds were in this river. 3 November 2014.

Pantanos de Villa Wildlife Refuge is a coastal wetland near Lima that protects habitat for local birds such as Puna Ibises in photo, and overwintering migrants like these Franklin's Gulls.
