Baird's Tapir walked out of the forest
to the beach at Campanario Biological Station on the Osa Peninsula
in Costa Rica. This unusual animal with a trunk-like nose is related
to rhinos and horses, and is the largest wild land mammal in Costa
Rica. It's listed as endangered by the International Union for
Conservation of Nature (IUCN). 22 February 2017. |
